Dr. Susko was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He lived in Santa Monica, CA during his high school and college years; attending both Loyal High School, and Loyola Marymount University. He continued his education and training by attending Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich; School of Medicine in Munich, Germany. Dr. Susko completed his internal medicine residency at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colorado; which included multiple trainings at the University of Colorado, Denver Health Medical Center (formally, Denver General Hospital), and Fitzsimons Army Hospital. He then practiced internal medicine for one year at Kaiser Permanente, West Los Angeles.
Dr. Susko continued his education and training by completing a three-year fellowship in rheumatology at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center (LAC+USC) which included physical medicine and rehabilitation at LAC+USC inpatient hospital and Rancho Los Amigos Hospital.
Dr. Susko was hired as full-time clinical faculty at Keck School of Medicine of USC, Division of Rheumatology. Dr. Susko taught there full-time and cared for patients for ten years. This included providing services at USC University Hospital inpatient for physical rehabilitation unit, Norris Cancer hospital, Women and Children’s Hospital, and LA County + USC Medical Center. He also participated in clinical trials. At LA County USC Medical Center, he was an attending physician for two months annually for the rheumatology inpatient service, and two months annually for the general internal medicine service.
Dr. Susko served as a chairman of the USC Department of Medicine Practice Operations Development Committee for 10 years.
During 2003-2014, Dr. Susko volunteered his time as a faculty member teaching rheumatology fellows in training at Cedars Sinai Medical Center within the department of Rheumatology.
In 2005 and 2015, Dr. Susko was the chairman for Providence St. John’s Health Center postgraduate assembly, as well as participating in the major annual continuing education lecture series.
Beginning in 2010 to present day, Dr. Susko has been invited by Providence St. John’s Health Center to lecture on a current Rheumatology topic to community members.
In 2003, Dr. Susko started his private practice in Santa Monica, CA. His office is adjacent to Providence Saint John’s Health Center. Dr. Susko’s private practice is growing and welcoming new patients daily.
Currently, Dr. Susko’s private practice services include rheumatology consultation, in house infusion services, and extremity MRI. Dr. Susko’s extensive academic experience and excellent bedside manner enables him to provide truly exceptional care to his patients.
Dr. Susko regularly meets with patients seeking a second opinion due to his expertise within the realm of Rheumatology. Dr. Susko is an individual practitioner with an excellent ancillary staff to support him and his patients. Dr. Susko provides unique and individual medical care to patients with the goal of individuals to function at their highest level with the greatest quality of life.
